　　During my four years' college study, I had a whole variety of science subjects since my major was closely related to science. I used to choose some elective courses, one of which is exactly what I was partial to. Well, in fact,it was not a common one at that time, and accordingly only fewer than 10 students chose it. Well, it's called mapping engineering.

　　Extremely young as I was during my childhood, I started to be fascinated about reading maps, and the truth is when I arrived in a new city, the first thing I needed to do was buying a map. After reading the map, I could know something about the city. And after traveling there, the map became my collection. I have been to over 50 cities, and accordingly I have collected more than 50 maps.

　　Having entering university, I luckily got a chance to select a course like this. Our lecturer, who was actually a technician from a mapping institute, briefly introduced how to use some traditional equipment to draw maps, and he put all emphasis on how to use GPS to make a map. GPS, as you know, means global positioning system, and it is a system relying on at least 24 GPS satellites. Those satellites offer positioning information twenty-four and seven  (无时无刻) to whoever needs it.

　　上大学了以后，很幸运我选择了这门课。我的老师事实上是一名绘图机构的技术员，他大致介绍了如何用传统仪器来画地图，而且他强调了如何用GPS来制作地图。

　　The chip in GPS information-receiving devices can calculate where people are and how fast they move. With the advancement of related technology, nowadays technicians can draw maps much more efficiently than before. Although this subject is not something relevant to what I majored in, I'm still a fan of it.
