Exchange word 在友好的语境下是聊一聊的意思，但是在敌对的情况下是吵架的意思。

I saw jane yesterday and we exchanged words and she invited me to his party.

我昨天见到了简，我们聊了聊，然后她邀请我参加她的派对。

A guy hit my car，I got off the car and we exchanged a few words.

有个家伙撞了我的车，我下了车，更他吵了起来

下面我们来看在美剧破产姐妹中figure的几种用法。

1、Let the bomb-squad figure it out.

Max的妈妈寄了一个包裹给她，但她不愿意打开，甚至不愿意拿进房间，所以她跟Caroline说，放在门口让拆弹部队看看里面有什么。

这里的Figure it out 就是想清楚弄明白的意思。

2、Go figure 表示觉得很奇怪或很难解释。

said to show that you think something is strange or difficult to explain.

-he is only eight but he can write better than me.他才八岁，但写作比我还好。

-go figure 是很奇怪哦

再比如下面的例子

-she likes to eat sandwich by dipping it into ice-cream.她喜欢沾着冰淇凌吃三明治。

-go figure. 是很奇怪哦。

3、key figure 重要角色

Sam is not excatly a key figure, but he can lead us to Mr Big.

萨姆虽然不是一个重要的角色，但是他能帮助我们找到Mr Big。
