1.Talk about an object, tool, or piece of equipment that you depend on in your daily life. Explain how it makes your life easier.

I depend on my Smart phone in my daily life and it has made my life a lot easier because all the information and apps I need forwork and social life are in my Smart phone. For example, I don’t use an alarm clock in the morning because there’s an app for that in my phone. Once I leave my apartment, I use the GPS in my phone to navigate the route with the leasttraffic to my office. If I’m stuck in the traffic,I can start checking for important emails from clients or colleagues in my car or even make some phone calls to get some problems solved before I,mactually in the office. After work, I use instant messengers on my phone toconnect with friends. Without my Smartphone, everything in life would be time consuming and complicated.

2.What is better, independent learning or studying in groups? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I suppose studying in groups has more advantages than independent learning. The first reason I need to mention is that studyingin groups helps students get their visions expanded. When they have discussions with others, they can get new insights from other group members. In my ChineseLiterature class, I always get new understanding about the works or the characters thanks to the opinions of my group members. Additionally, I believe studying in groups is helpful for students to develop their communicationskills. They will be more sociable and learn how to get along with others.

3.What kind of job will you choose? A job through which you can get a lot of money or a job through which you can get great personal satisfaction.

I would probably choose a well-paid job. First ofall, it’s not easy to find a well-paid job in China now. A person must be really good at something. If I can do something well and it can make rich, Iwould definitely do it no matter whether I like it or not. It will definitely give me a sense of achievement when I accomplish some difficult tasks. Besides,I could use the money I earn to do a lot of things that could make myselfhappy. For example, I could travel to different places in the world, whichcould broaden my horizons. Furthermore, money could give people a sense ofsecurity. If I can make a lot of money, I will buy myself an apartment and acar. It makes me feel safe.

4.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is important for a school to have experienced teachers.

I am supportive of the idea that it’s significantfor a school to have experienced teachers. There are two mains reasons for it.Firstly, experienced teachers are fully aware of what is the best way to teachso that students could learn more from their classes than other teachers. Theyhave concluded lots of tricks on how to deal with various problems and how toteach different students with different personalities. Secondly, experienced teachers could help new teachers to be better. Experienced teachers could givenew teachers some useful advice when they feel confused. With the help ofexperienced teachers, new teachers could save a lot of time and energy, tryingmeaningless and useless teaching methods.

5.Which of the following do you think is the most difficult and challenging for university students? Being far away from families, finding time to relax or making new friends.

Personally speaking, the most challenging task foruniversity students would be making new friends. Firstly, it is not easy tomake friends with people from different provinces. China is a fairly largecountry. People are different due to the unique culture and customs indifferent provinces. Students might find it difficult to understand each other. Secondly, most of Chinese students have already been used to being away fromtheir families. High school students usually go to boarding schools. They couldonly meet their parents once a week or even once a month. Last but not least, academic life in China is not busy at all. It is commonly reported that numerous college students in China would indulge themselves in playing computers games all the time.
